LEVEL 1 LETS PLAY
LETS PLAY is a wonderful sounding piece full of light and energy. Simple rhythms make this a fantastic choice for beginning groups. Easy to learn, LETS PLAY works extremely well on stage. There are some fast passages that always impress audiences and can be used to feature one or more players.

TECHNICAL: This piece was designed to be played on multiple marimbas [3 standard marimbas and 1 bass] however it still works with a smaller number of instruments by placing parts on the same marimba at different octaves. If no bass is available, play on a standard marimba at the lower end - if notes are out of range transpose up or down the octave.
PERFORMANCE/TEACHING NOTES
LETS PLAY is an upbeat piece that is quick to learn and fun to perform . At bars 51-58 all players need to produce a crisp clean attack with the mallets and accurate rhythm - be sure not to race the tempo at this point. If this proves difficult with a large number of players, then it is possible to select individuals and highlight these players to perform these bars as a feature.
